Our ministry was formed early in the year 2000 by God, without our prior knowledge of what was about to occur. (grin)

We (myself, ..my sisters Brenda and Lisa, ...and our cousin Reta) have always had a close bond with each other. In fact, when we were growing up, we spent most of our time together, either at our house or at Reta's. We never allowed ourselves to drift apart, as we are each others best support system, (aside from God), and we actually "need" each other. We are happiest, when we are all together, where's there's always yummy food involved, and side-splitting laughter!!

The day that our ministry was established, we had all gathered at my sisters house to hang out with each other. God knew what was about to take place, but as He had not yet informed us of what His plan was for us, ......we had no idea what was about to happen. .......It would completely change our lives.

We were sitting in rocking chairs that were lined up across Brenda's front porch, looking out across her beautiful property and her duck pond that stretched across a couple of acres. There were Frik and Frak, the two white geese, waddling around the edge of the pond, and a mother duck with her babies. We were doing the same thing that we had always done when we were together, ...we were just being ourselves ...eating some good food, talking, and laughing until we cried. Someone said, "I wish there was something that we could do together so that we could spend more time with each other." Everyone agreed that the idea was wonderful, but noone could think of anything that we could do that would be productive. We threw all kinds of ideas into the hat, most of which involved work of some kind. None of us were keen on working, so to no avail, we gave up on the idea of "doing something together".

Reta said, "Let's sing something ya'll." So Lisa sounded off, taking the lead on the first song that came to mind, and the rest of us joined in, .....each one looking for their part in harmony. HEY! We thought that sounded pretty good! So, "DO IT AGAIN!' turned into "DO IT AGAIN!" turned into "LET'S TRY ANOTHER ONE!!!" ...and on and on we sang that day. Finally, someone said, "If we did start singing together, ...what could we call ourselves?", ... so Brenda,spoke up and said, "Guilty As Sin!"  ... (knowing that our spirit and our flesh are in constant battle against each other),  We all laughed, but then I said, "yes, but we're covered by grace." That's It! ...WE ARE! "Covered By Grace".

That's how we got our name. Reta had a prior engagement to sing at a benefit singing that next weekend, so she called the lady who was in charge of organinzing the singing, and asked her if it would be ok if we came and helped her out. The lady was delighted to have us volunteer, and gave us the ok. We sang only two songs that night, but yet we received several bookings before the night was over. Besides getting invitations to sing at other functions, we were also approached by the radio station broadcasting the event, and asked if we had any CD's out, that they could play on air! Whoo! Hoo! Thank you God!

That happened over seven years ago, we've been singing together ever since! God has surely blessed us. Not only do we have the priviledge of spreading the good news through song, ......but we get to do it TOGETHER!

We are so glad that His blood covers our sins. We know that without Him we are nothing, and that we can never be "good enough" on our own. It's not even about us, ...it's all about Him.
